Mildred Faith Ragon, 96, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Carriage Inn, Steubenville. Born November 10, 1921 in Hazelton, Pa, she was a daughter of the late John S and Veronica (Vano) Gaydos. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Ragon; three sisters Vera Slate, Marian Gaydos and Virginia Temaeva and an infant brother Edward Gaydos. Mildred taught at St. Paul’s Elementary School and St. Joseph Elementary School in Weirton and also served as a teacher’s aide at Liberty Elementary School. She enjoyed art, poetry and music, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son Robert J. (Karen) Ragon of Weirton; two daughters Patricia (Dr. Bela) Ballo of Waite Hill, OH and Karen (David) Gould of Weirton; grandchildren Dr. Bela R. (Dr. Frances) Ballo, Dr. Michael (Johanna) Ballo, Dr. Matthew (Lisa) Ballo, Nicole (Gene) Erhbar, Brian D. Gould, Gregory A. (Andrea) Gould, Christopher and Julia Ragon; 14 great-grandchildren and nephews John (Anne) Frey, Christopher Frey and Ananias (Allison) Temaeva. Friends will be received on Friday from 6:30 pm until the time of funeral services at 7:30 pm at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton. Rev. Fr. Larry Dorsch will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Paul Catholic School, 140 Walnut St., Weirton, WV 26062, or to the choice of the donor.
