Mildred Risovich

Mildred "Millie" Risovich, 90, of Weirton died April 4, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Wheeling, WV.
Born May 5, 1920, in Mingo, OH, Millie was a daughter of the late Nickola and Sima Visnic Lalich. Millie was also preceded in death by her husband Fred Risovich, sister Rose Frankovitch and brothers George, Mike and Nick Lalich.
A homemaker, Millie was a graduate of the Weir High Class of 1939.
She is survived by a son, a daughter, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one brother.
Honoring Millie's wishes, private funeral services were held 1 PM on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. The Very Reverend Father Rade Merick presided, and Kutz Karas was the cantor for the service. Interment followed in the Serbian Cemetery, Weirton, WV.
Memorial contributions may be made in Millie's memory to the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, 169 Edgington Lane, Wheeling, WV 26003-1597.

Fred, Sissy, Eli, It is with great sadness that we learn the passing of Aunt Milly. She was like a parent to us when we were growing up. My mom and dad had so much love and respect for your parents. Aunt Milly was beloved by all of us. There are so many good, beautiful memories of her that will live in our hearts forever. She loved so many things from gardening, love of birds, baking, taking care of her family, learning to play the piano, cooking Serbian foods, always willing to help someone, etc. etc. We are comfortable in knowing she is with Uncle Freddy and all family and friends who went before her. We, too, share in celebrating the remembrance of the extraordinary woman you knew as a mother, and sister. A visit to her home was always one punctuated with culture, music, art, wonderful food and acts of kindness oft shared with the unspoken bond of love between friends. We share in your loss and will long remember the woman we had the good fortune to call “Aunt Milly”.
To the entire Risovich family: I was saddened to read of your mother’s/grandmother’s passing. She of course is in a much better place, at peace and with Jesus. However, loosing a parent is difficult. I hope God comforts you now and always. My good friend Fr. Harold Moore always wanted to die during Easter season because he said:”it would be straight to Heaven!
