Nancy Hanna “Sitto” Thomas, 77, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio. Born September 21, 1929 in Waynesburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Jennie Jaspar Hanna. Nancy was also preceded in death by two infant children, Mark and Rachel, and her brothers James Michael, Edward and J. Donald Hanna. Nancy was a homemaker, a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Daughters of Penelope, Weirton Chapter 147 Order of the Eastern Star, Weirton Medical Foundation Board, the All Saints Ladies Philoptochos Society and served as secretary for the All Saints Seniors. Nancy served as the former President of the Weirton Medical Center Auxiliary and Millsop Elementary PTA. She was very active in the Campfire organization. Nancy’s survivors include her husband Daniel George Thomas whom she married July 21, 1957; her daughter Rebecca “Becky” Hagwood and her husband James Michael all of Weirton; sisters Sara Plate and her husband Ron of Latrobe, PA and Joanne Hasnauer and her husband Ron of Greensburg, PA; grandson Zachary Sutton and step-granddaughter Emily Hagwood. The family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held Saturday from 10AM until the 11AM funeral service at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church with Reverend Father Frank Milanese officiating.
