She served on the Brooke County Planning Commission, the Democratic Women’s Association and was on the board of directors of Brooke Hancock Mental Health. Norita nourished her faith at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church in Weirton. In addition to her parents, Norita was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Francis Ballato, on December 25, 2017, and her two sisters, Leota Yoak and Elva Vaughan. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. To Norita’s Family, We were so sorry to learn about Norita’s passing. Please know that we will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Sincerely, Michael and Kathy Ballato

  2. Nick, Chris and family, Just heard about your mom’s passing (I’m presently out of town). She was such a nice lady — may she rest in peace. Sam

  3. Aunt Nortia was indeed one of favorite relatives. I can’t remember when I didn’t look forward to seeing her and Uncle Sam any time our family gathered. She remains one of the most interesting, talented, and colorful people I have ever met. I also very much enjoyed being around all her children (my cousins) and loved her cooking. I wish nothing but the best for her family during this most difficult time. Having lost my own mother earlier this year reminds us just how short our time here is and how valuable memories are. I hope God enjoys you as much as we did.
