Norma Murphy

Norma Murphy, 81, of Weirton died Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. She was born on September 30, 1922, in Coshocton, OH, the daughter of the late John F. and Cora M. (Mumma) Richmond. Norma was also preceded in death by her husband, Benedict E. Murphy, on December 20, 1999. Norma was a homemaker, and a member of the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Weirton, the Weirton Woman’s Club, Art Department, AARP 3648, and the Three Score Seniors. She is survived by her son John E. Murphy, and his wife Judy of Oakdale, PA; her daughter, Anne M. Mountjoy, and her husband Richard of Sparta, NJ; a brother, J. Robert Richmond of Mesa AZ; five grandchildren, Clare, Ellen, and Mark Mountjoy, Shawn and Kelly Murphy. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Saturday and 1-3 & 7-9 PM Sunday, at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with mass will be celebrated 10 AM Monday at the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in the Saint Paul Cemetery Mausoleum.
