Norman Ray “Buckeye” White, 86, of Weirton died Saturday January 12, 2019, at the Acuity Specialty Hospital in Weirton. A son of the late Donley and Vaughn Postlethwait White, Sr., Norman was born on September 2, 1932, in Pine Grove, WV. In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Antoinetta Consalvo White on February 2, 2007; and his brother, Donley White, Jr. A Follansbee High School graduate of 1950, Norman proudly served as an Aviation Ordnanceman aboard the Navy aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea during the Korean War. He retired as a mechanical foreman from Weirton Steel after 40 years of service. Norman was a member of the Wellsburg Church of Christ, VFW 2716, American Legion Post 10, and the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club. Most of all Norman was a proud father and grandfather. He really enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, from taking them to school, to telling them stories. He will be remembered with love by his son, Norman R. and Carla White of Weirton; his daughter, Linda White of St Petersberg, FL; his grandchildren, Capt Lucia White (USAF) of Colorado Springs, Co, and Stephen White of New York, NY. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, where funeral services will be held 12:30 PM on Wednesday. Minister Daniel Ruegg will preside. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the United States Navy and the American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard. Norman’s family would like to thank the Weirton Medical Center and the Acuity Specialty Hospital for all the love and care they have provide to Mr. White for the last two months.   3. Norman, Linda and family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I loved he and your mom. Living just up the street it was like having another set of parents.
