Okey J. Midcap

Okey J. Midcap, 78, of New Cumberland, died Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at his residence. He was born March 23, 1924 in Petroleum, WV, the son of the late Frank Garfield and Mary Jane Varner Midcap. His brother, Bob Midcap, also preceded him in death. Okey retired from the Weirton Steel Coke Plant where he worked for 28 years as a machine operator. He was a member of First Christian Church in Weirton. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Weirton Lodge #171 A.F. & A.M. and the Scottish Rite of Wheeling, WV. Okey is survived by his wife, Grace DeVaughn Midcap; two sons, Terry and his wife Angel, and Dave and his wife Lynette, all of New Cumberland; one brother, Roy and his wife Beverly of Akron, OH; three sisters, Mrs. Willis (Betty) Alkire of Weirton, Mrs. Howard (Edith) Cronin of Belpre, OH, and Mrs. Junior (Dolores) Bell of Parkersburg, WV; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17 from 2:00 – 4:00PM and 7:00 – 9:00PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 18. Interment will be in the New Cumberland Cemetery with graveside services conducted by the Weirton Lodge A.F. & A.M. #171.
