Orcie S. Pratt, 83, of Weirton died Saturday January 21, 2006 at the Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit in Steubenville, OH. Orcie was born on January 6, 1923 in Pennsboro, WV, the son of the late Orlea T. and Florence M. (Riddle) Pratt. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Orlea Pratt, Jr., and his sister, Virginia Culnon. Orcie retired with 36 years of service from Weirton Steel Corporation where he worked on the pickler in the Strip Steel . He also worked in the Acid Plant. Orcie served his country in the United States Army, during World War II. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Weirton, AF & AM Lodge # 171, and the Colliers Sportsman’s Club. Orcie enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle E. (Williams) Pratt, whom he married on October 4, 1948; a son, James Stephen Pratt and his wife Janet of Wintersville, OH; a daughter, Donna Rae Barksdale and her husband Steve of Saint Mary’s, WV; ; four grandchildren, ;Jamie Kuester and her husband Bob, Justin Pratt, Andrew and Emily Barksdale. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV, where funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday. Pastor Chuck Jerman will preside.
