Patrick R. Sweeney

Patrick R. Sweeney of Weirton passed away after a five year battle with bladder cancer on Monday, November 23, 2020. He was 62 years old.
Patrick was born in Wheeling, WV on May 30, 1958. For most of his life, Patrick made Weirton his home.
Through the years he worked various jobs as a laborer including Weirton Steel.
In his free time, Patrick enjoyed attending races at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course, classic rock concerts at Star Lake, and cheering on the New York Rangers.
He was a member of the BPOE 1801.
Patrick will always be remembered for his private but personable personality and his great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Raedean, and his father Raymond Sweeney.
Patrick will be remembered with love by his mother, Margaret “Peggy” Bendot Sweeney.
Patrick will be laid to rest at Saint Paul Cemetery mausoleum.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton.

Pat was a good friend. We became friends in high school and played cards in study hall. We bowled down Holiday Lanes. He had a great sense of humor and was a big New York Ranger fan. My deepest sympathies to his family. Dennis Mohoroski
