patsy brancazio
Patsy T. Brancazio, 72, of Weirton died suddenly, at his home, on Monday April 27, 2015. Born on August 23, 1942, in Weirton, WV, Patsy was a son of the late Antonio and Antonia (Paolo) Brancazio. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Joseph and Dominic "Tom" Brancazio; and a sister, Mary A. Brancazio. A 1960 Graduate of Weirton Madonna High School, Patsy attended University of Steubenville and the West Virginia Northern Community College. He worked at Firestone Tire Company on Main Street in Weirton prior to his 25 years at Weirton Steel, where he worked in the Boiler House, and Machine Shop, as a time keeper, before his retirement. After his retirement, Patsy worked for Huntleigh USA, at the Pittsburgh International Airport prior to his present employment with the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home in Weirton. Patsy will always be remembered for his dedication to the children of Hancock County, where he served on the Hancock County School Board for almost 20 years. He served as a board member from 1980 1992 and was currently serving a second term, from his 2008 election, representing the Butler District. He was a former President of the Hancock County School Board, a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, West Virginia School Board Association, Hancock County Representative to the RESA 6 Regional Council Board, and the Friends of WVNCC. He is survived by his wife, Nerina "Marie" Castellucci Brancazio; his four daughters, Kathy Granato (Donald), and Andrea Brancazio-Dulaney of Weirton, WV, Patty (Calvin) Brancazio-Wade of Cranberry Township, PA, and Theresa Brancazio-Caldwell (Art) of Hendersonville, NC; a sister, Domenica "Minnie" Malloy of Weirton, WV ; his grandchildren, Don, Rosalie and Gina Granato, Connor and Hunter Dulaney. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday, at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. Interment will follow at Saint Paul's Cemetery, Weirton, WV. Memorial contributions may be made to the Backpack for Success Program in care of Weirton Elementary School Health Center.
