Paul E. Simon, 86, of Weirton, WV died Wednesday August 8, 2012, at the Kindred Hospital North Shore in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on November 5, 1925, Paul was a son of the late Elias and Ella Simon. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, James and Thomas Simon; four sisters, Dolores and Anna Rusinovich, Peggy Sliman, and Wedad Anderson. A United States Navy Veteran of World War II, Paul retired as an owner and operator of Toronto Auto Parts, in Toronto, OH, and the former Texaco Gas Station and Paul's Auto Parts both formerly located on Pennsylvania Avenue in Weirton, WV. Paul served on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Automotive Association. He was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3734, VFW 2716, American Legion Post 10, and the BPOE 1801. Paul is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Kuchak Simon, whom he married on September 28, 1957; two sons, Paul "Butch" Simon and Mike (Lisa) Simon all of Weirton; daughters, Mary Beth Simon of Weirton, Anne (Alex) Sabol of Centerville, VA, and Margaret Mary "Midge" (Reed) Smyth of Rochester Hills, MI; sister, Eleanor Chenosky of Peora, AZ; 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. At Mr. Simon's request, his Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be private. Interment will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery.
