Paul “Pat” Schultz, 87 of Weirton, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 in the Heritage Valley Hospital, Sewickley, PA. He was born June 15, 1931 in Stratton, OH, a son of the late Michael and Julia Molchan Schultz. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Moskal Schultz who died January 7, 1993, brother Eli Schultz; and sisters, Ann Rosak and Mary Schultz. With over 25 years of service, Pat retired in 1996 from Weirton Steel where he worked as a pipefitter. He was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Weirton; WSX 25-Year Club, Fellowship of Orthodox Christian in America and the St. Nicholas Choir. He was the co-founder and co-director of the Nikolia Folk Dancers of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. He played semi-pro baseball, also having been offered a position in the Red Sox Minor League team. He loved woodworking and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Pat served aboard the USS Sperry with the US Navy during the Korean War. He will be remembered with love by his sons John (Sonia) Schultz, MD and Michael (Airry) Schultz all of Weirton and Anthony (Tammy) Schultz of Grove port, OH; daughters, Paula (James) Exler of Moon Township, PA and Patricia Schultz of Weirton and grandchildren Natasha, Alexandra and Samantha Exler, Sarah and John Schultz, Jr., Joshua, Kendall and Elexis Schultz and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday 3 – 7 PM at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV, where Parastas services will be celebrated at 7:00 PM. Additional visitation will be Thursday from 10 until the 11 AM funeral service at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church with the Reverend Father Andrew P. Nelko officiating. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Weirton with Military Services being conducted by the United States Navy and American Legion Honor Guards.
