Paul Raymond Madden

Paul Raymond Madden, 84, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born October 9, 1922 in Clarksburg, WV, he was the son of the late Thomas C. and Ella Criss Madden, Sr. Paul was also preceded in death by his son Michael McWhorter; daughter Mindy McWhorter Cassella; brothers Thomas C. Madden, Jr. and John “Jack” Madden and sisters Opal Pierce and Ruth Walp.
With 38 years of service, Paul retired from National Steel where he worked as a melter foreman in the BOP. He was a member of the WSX 25-Year Club, Weirton Elks Lodge 1801, Pleasant Valley Country Club and The Evert Maki American Legion Post 10. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Paul’s survivors include his wife Mary “Bucky” Tomasovich Madden of Weirton; son Daniel McWhorter and his wife Mary Beth of Weirton; son-in-law Leonard Cassella of New Cumberland, WV; daughter Rose Clutter of Buckhannon, WV; grandchildren Lori Perry, Crystal (Jerry) Hosemann, Chantel (Bob) Mayhew, Israel Cassella, Chris McWhorter and Daniel McWhorter, Jr.; great grandchildren Joel Perry, Damon and Marijane Mayhew; Michaela Cassella, Jackson and Isabella Hosemann; nephew Roger (Diane) Madden of Bloomingdale, OH and niece Judy (Jerry) Stewart of Clinton, MD.
The family will receive friends Sunday 2-4PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted at 12:30PM Monday with Brother Roger D. Madden presiding. Interment will be at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA where military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 10 and Weirton Honor Guard.

Paul Paul,I miss u so much and It just hasent been the same without you. I miss going over to ur house and seeing u,talking to you for hours about everything and helping out around the house. I never thought in a million years I’d miss hearing ur stories about the navy,ireland,football and many many other things u told me over and over. Its just so hard for me to go over memas and not see u or hear u. Im glad I got to be your grandson and I wouldnt want any other grandpa other then you. Take care of Milo,Kristin,Robert and Wes.
