Raheta Kay Sutton of New Cumberland passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, May 27, 2022, under the watchful eyes of her loving family. She was 89 years old. She was born in Weirton on April 18, 1933, the daughter of John and Helen McKenna. Kay was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church and a 1951 graduate of Weir High School Before her marriage to Eugene Sutton, whom she married on May 30, 1952, Kay worked for the C&P Telephone Company as an Operator. After their marriage, Kay enjoyed her role as a homemaker and began to enjoy keeping her house and decorating it in her style; her family says, “that style was fancy, she liked fancy things!” In her spare time, her enjoyment of crafts, especially ceramics developed into classes being taught in her home from 1978-to 1995. Her family still recalls the holiday creations and the many Christmas trees that would be continuously decorated depending upon which holiday was being celebrated. Kay was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan, and she enjoyed a good NASCAR race as well. Kay’s family will forever cherish the fond memories of their wonderful summers in her backyard swimming and picnicking together. In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Sutton who passed on January 9, 2009, her daughter Terri Marino and brother Patrick McKenna. Left to cherish her memory with love and admiration is her family whom she adored, daughter Bonnie (David) Kuzma of Weirton, brother John (Jackie) McKenna of Las Vegas, NV., son-in-law Bob Marino of New Cumberland, grandchildren Melissa (Lance) Radue, Ashley (Brandon) Six, and Ryan (Tiffany) Kuzma, great-grandchildren Brayden and Whitney Radue, Ivy and Aria Six, and Annabelle, Amelia, and David Kuzma. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Share tributes at www.grecohertnick.com
