rayna vaughan
Rayna Vaughan, 21, of Wheeling Island, WV, formerly of Weirton, WV died Wednesday March 21, 2018, at her home. Born on September 3, 1996, in New Martinsville, WV, Rayna was the daughter of Christopher James (Mary) Vaughan of Florida and Jennifer Carolyn Riel Vaughan of Weirton, WV. Rayna was preceded in death by her step father, Billy English; maternal grandmother, Barbara Jean Riel, paternal grandfather, Jerry Lee Vaughan, and great grandfather, William “Cat Bird” Tyler. Rayna was raised in Weirton and attended Broadview Elementary, Weir Middle and Weir High School. She had a career in the fast food industry. She was employed at the Kentucky Fried Chicken in Weirton and she was presently working at the Wendy’s in Benwood, WV. A very intelligent girl when it came to building and putting things together, Rayna was gifted with a very logical mind. She could just figure things out. She loved the outdoors. As a young girl, she enjoyed riding her bike and skateboard. When most parents had to tell their child to go outside and play, her mother had to tell her to come inside. As she grew up she found enjoyment in golfing and fishing. It was no surprise that she would be the one catching all of the fish. After her daughter was born, her greatest joy was caring and spending time with her. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor. To be part of her family it was just natural to joke around a lot. She was a member of the C3 Covenant Community Church in Wheeling, WV She will be remembered with love by her mother and father, Christopher and Jennifer Vaughan; her beloved two year old daughter, Madison Grace; her grandfather, Leslie Wayne Riel; her grandmother, Carol Foraker; her great grandmothers, Edna Riel and Carolyn Tyler; her aunts uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be 6 PM until the time of funeral services at 8 PM Saturday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV. Pastor Shawn Smith will preside. If anyone would like to bring a picture of Rayna to the visitation, the family will be building a collage in her memory. Memorial contributions may be made to her family.
