Robert B. Davidson, 74, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in the Acuity Care Hospital, Steubenville, OH. Born February 29, 1936 in Burgettstown, PA, he was the son of the late H. Q. and Elizabeth Bruce Davidson. Mr. Davidson retired from Weirton Steel where he served as the Assistant Fire Chief. He attended the Riverview Baptist Church in Wellsburg, WV, was a member of the WSX 25-Year Club and a Lifetime Honorary Captain of the Weirton Heights Volunteer Fire Department. Being an avid Steelers, Penguins and NASCAR fan, his family and friends knew they should never touch the television or the remote while he was watching football, hockey or the races. Robert is survived by his wife Carol Svica Davidson; daughter Nikki Bailey and her husband Richard E. and granddaughter Lori Bailey all of Weirton. He will be sadly missed by his faithful companion, an English Spaniel named Crackers. Friends will be received Saturday from 9 until the 11AM funeral services at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. The Reverend Lawrence Kimball will officiate. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
