Robert "Bob" Slowikowski, 64, of Weirton, WV died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Weirton Medical Center. Born April 9, 1952 in Steubenville, OH, he was a son of the late Zigmund J. and Ann Kondik Slowikowski. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Susan Marino Slowikowski, whom he married on June 19, 1976; and his brother, Thomas J. (Lynda) Slowikowski. Bob retired from the B.O.P. at Weirton Steel, where his job was to pour steel. He was a member of Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus 3734, Weirton Elks Lodge 1801 and Moose Lodge 688. Bob loved sports. One of his famous quotes was "I don't hunt, I don't fish, I love football." He will always be remembered for his love of Ohio State and Weirton Madonna Blue Dons. He enjoyed attending Weirton Madonna Football and Basketball games and when he had the opportunity to go to Columbus to watch Ohio State. He also enjoyed watching The Ohio State Band, Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. But most of all Bob loved his family, and was very heartbroken to lose his loving wife of forty years this past February. He is survived by his son John (Mercedes) Slowikowski; daughter Cathy Slowikowski, and her fianc Robert Catlett; his sister, Rose Mary Zanieski (Stanley) all of Weirton. Visitation will be held Sunday 1-3 and 6-8 PM at Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday at St. Paul Church, 140 Walnut Street, Weirton. Reverend Father Larry Dorsch will officiate. Entombment will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery Mausoleum. Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6 PM Sunday in the funeral home. BPOE 1801 Memorial Service at 7 PM Sunday in the funeral home.
