Robert D. (Bob) Tortis

Robert D. “Bob “ Tortis, 66 of Weirton, died Thursday September 27, 2001 at his residence. He was born on May 24, 1935, in Weirton, WV, the son of the late Charles Tortis, Sr. and Jennie Younciak Tortis. Bob retired as a mechanic in the Sheet Mill of Weirton Steel after 38 ½ years of service. He was a member of the Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church and the Weirton Steel 25 year Club. His wife, Pauline Orologas Tortis, whom he married on July 9, 1960; his son Robert Charles Tortis of Weirton ; his daughter, Tina Marie Tortis of Imperial, PA; his brothers Charles and Dolores Tortis Jr. of Weirton and Jim and Sally Tortis of South Daytona, FL; his sisters Mrs. Jack (JoAnn) Wells and Mrs. Mary Jane Aperfine both of Weirton; his grandson, Robert Daniel Tortis of Weirton and several nieces and nephews, survive. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Saturday and 1-3 & 7-9 PM Sunday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, Weirton. Prayer services will be held 2:30 PM on Sunday. Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated 10 AM Monday at the Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weirton. Entombment will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery Mausoleum.
