robert jenkins
Robert Dale Jenkins, 79, of Weirton, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010, at the Weirton Medical Center. Born June 29, 1931, in Miledus, WV, Robert was the son of the late Autie Robert and Martha Marie (Duncan) Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by his four sisters, Lorraine Posey, June Jenkins, Loretta Dedina, and Barbara Sue Jenkins. Robert retired from Weirton Steel, where he was a welder in the Steel Works Welding Shop for 38 years. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Robert was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, where he played the piano for 16 years and was the church treasurer. Robert was also a member of the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Anita Ruiz Jenkins; two sons, Bernard Scott Jenkins, and Robert Duane Jenkins and his wife Sher-Ree all of Weirton, WV; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday and 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday, at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street Weirton. Additional visitation will be Wednesday 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM at the New Hope Baptist Church 2682 Wylie Ridge Road Weirton, WV Pastor Len Peeler will preside. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton, WV.
