Robert Michael “Mike” Johnston, Jr., 38, of Weirton, died Saturday, March 5, 2005 at his home. He was born February 16, 1967 in Weirton, a son of Robert Michael Johnston, Sr. and Luanna Belle Anderson Johnston of Weirton. Mike attended the Weirton Salvation Army and worked for 11 years in the Loss Prevention Department of Krogers. He loved to fish, ride his motorcycle, and was an Elvis collector. In addition to his parents, Robert and Luanna, Mike is also survived by his wife, Shelly Clevenger Johnston, whom he married on June 26, 1993; one daughter, Maria E. Thomas; grandchildren, Jada, Jia, and Dorian Brown, all of Weirton; two brothers, Fred (Lisa) Johnston of Chambersburg, PA and Christopher (Molly) Johnston of Follansbee, WV; many nieces and nephews; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Linda Clevenger of Colliers, WV; aunts, uncles, cousins; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; grandfather, Fred Anderson of Smithfield, WV; best friend, Mark Cowden of Weirton; and his faithful companion, Taj. Visitation for Mike will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Monday and Tuesday at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery, Colliers, WV. Memorial donations may be made to either The Salvation Army, 794 Cove Road, Weirton, WV 26062 or W.A.A.R.S., 1305 Pennsylvania Avenue, Weirton, WV 26062. I remembered all the days when Mike was in the Junior Fire Department, Senior Department and the Rescue Squad. Find comfort that he is in the Hands of the Lord and he will be forever remembered.

We were always so comfortable leaving him with the kids. He was very responsible and so mature for his age. We’ve been through many years of fun and sadness together.
