Roger Jay Gracie, of Weirton, WV, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022, after a recent battle with a stage four neuroendocrine tumor. He was 78. Roger was born in Steubenville, OH on March 14, 1944, one of five children born to Norman H. and Anjenetta Lyke Gracie. Roger graduated from Weir High School in 1962 and went to work at Weirton Steel. A career that spanned 38 years, Roger retired as a motor inspector on the C.A. lines of the tin mill. Roger along with the Stankiewicz brothers, Joe, and Jack, were instrumental in the formation of Weirton’s first Rescue Squad. His love for hunting and fishing, led him to become a lifetime member of the Paris Sportsmen Club, where he served as president, secretary, trustee. A talented mechanic, Roger taught his skills to his sons as they cherished quality time building and restoring cars, hot rods, and motorcycles. He loved riding his Harley and enjoyed watching car shows on television. Most of all, Roger will be remembered as a wonderful father and grandfather and a good husband.
