roland ulizio
Roland Anthony Ulizio, 88, of Weirton, WV died Thursday April 25, 2019, at his home. His loving family was at his side. A son of the late Harry and Elsie Pichelli Ulizio, Roland was born January 21, 1931, in Dubois, PA. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Anthony. Roland retired from Weirton Steel Corporation, where he was a welder for 38 years. When he was not working at the mill he enjoyed spending time in his garden. He also enjoyed entertaining his family with his musical talents by playing the guitar, accordion, and harmonica. He was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, where he was an usher for the 11 AM Mass on Sunday. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus 3734; Weirton Steel Male Chorus, Weirton Steel 25 Year Club and the Weirton Steel Welder’s Club, and the Master Gardeners. Roland will be remembered with love by his wife of over 63 years, Rose Tillie Ulizio; sons, Michael and Debbie Ulizio of Norfolk, VA, and Bruce and Laurie Ulizio of Stafford, VA; daughter, Janet Bell of Columbus, OH; five grandchildren, Maria Buel-Smith (Steve), Kaitlin and Kevin Bell, Elena and Jenna Ulizio; and two great grandchildren, Grayson Buel and Claire Smith. Visitation will held Sunday 1 – 3 pm at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 PM Monday at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, 229 California Avenue, Weirton, WV. Interment will follow at Saint Paul’s Cemetery.
