Ronald Anthony Hill, 69, of Weirton passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born February 9, 1947 in Steubenville, he was a son of Yolanda A. (Mattioli) Hill and the late Merle E. Hill. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents Luigi and Maria Mattioli and John and Iva Hill. Ron retired from Continental Can with 37 years of service. He served two tours in Vietnam in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge in Weirton #688. Ron loved making people laugh, he was a happy go lucky kind of guy. He enjoyed having coffee with friends every morning and cutting the grass. He is survived by his wife Evelyn M. (Kelso) Hill whom he married on April 30, 1997, daughter Katrice Hill of Youngstown, son Anthony Hill of Weirton, stepson Mark Verelst of Burgettstown, granddaughter Shelby Hill of Weirton, grandson Ashton Hill of Weirton, brothers Donald (Min) Hill of Bartlesville, OK, Douglas (Sharon) Hill of Chester and Mark (Cindie) of Weirton, sisters Jeannie (Gary) Masters of Weirton and MaryAnn (Bryan) Holloway of Weirton as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday from 3-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10AM. Rev. Father Anthony Thurston will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 122 South High Street, Morgantown, WV 26501 or to the American Lung Association, PO Box 3980, Charleston, WV 25339.
