Rosaria Carmela Magnone Terramani

Rosaria Carmela Magnone Terramani, 66, of Weirton, passed away Friday, October 7, 2011 in the Kindred Hospital, Oakdale, PA. Born July 15, 1945 in Steubenville, OH, she was a daughter of Mary Contumelio Magnone of Weirton and the late Frank Magnone.
Mrs. Terramani served for over 25 years as an English and Religion teacher for the 6, 7 and 8th grades at St. Joseph School. After her retirement from St. Joseph, she served as a substitute teacher throughout the Ohio Valley. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church where she formerly served as a cantor and the Christian Mothers. She belonged to several card clubs and always looked forward to "game night with the girls".
In addition to her mother, Rosaria is survived by her husband Luigi Terramani whom she married July 11, 1975; daughter Regina Baker and her husband Jason; brother B. Thomas Magnone; sister Angeline Veltri and her husband Albert and grandchildren Alauna and Brodyn Baker all of Weirton. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 12 noon Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Dean Borgmeyer will officiate. Entombment will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.

I was a student of “Miss Magnone” at St. Joseph School many years ago for 6th, 7th and 8th grade English. She was an excellent teacher and I enjoyed learning from her, including diagraming sentences. May she rest in peace.
Regina and family, please accept my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences . Mrs Terramani was a wonderful woman. I will always remember the laughs we shared with her,when we lived together. We would always tell her stories just to get arise out of her. I just remember laughing so hard, because of her reaction. I’ll always remember her ditallini and peas too. Dear Luigi, Regina, and family, Please accept our deepest condolences for the loss of your dear wife and mother. I can remember Mrs. Terramani…well, for as long as I can remember. She was the first teacher to make me feel comfortable during my first days as a first grader at St. Joseph’s, just because I knew she was Italian and knew my family. I’ll never forget how she tried to help me succeed at singing “Eh Cumpari” for the talent show; she tried so hard – I was just too scared! And she was the first teacher who actually filled my mother in – completely, but I deserved it! Thank you, Mrs. Terramani, for setting a wonderful example for all of us who were fortunate enough to know you and be taught by you. Whether we knew it or not, you planted in your students what was necessary for them to one day have self-discipline and respect. Thank you, and may you rest in eternal peace with our Lord. Ms Terramani, I’m very sorry to hear of your passing. I last saw you in Weirton when visiting my Nonna and you were all smiles. Thank you for being such a great teacher in grade school. I remember getting in trouble quite a bit but am thankful for your patience with me. I’m out in California now, but I think back to St. Joes often and always find you in my memories. Thanks.
