Rose Mary Connell

Rose Mary Connell, 68, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2006 at her home. Born July 18, 1938 in Weirton, she was the daughter of the late Boleslaw (Joe) and Annie Simon Rusinovich. Rose Mary was preceded in death by her sister JoAnn Jagela.
Rose Mary was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. She was a graduate of the Wheeling Barber College and a member of St. Joseph Christian Mothers. Rose Mary loved crocheting, quilting and playing the piano. But, the most valued part of her life was the time spent with her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She especially loved traveling throughout the country with her family, particularly the northwest, southwest and the coastal beaches.
Rose Mary’s survivors include her husband Jerome Connell of Weirton whom she married April 19, 1961; daughters Rose Ann Wargacki and her husband Ronald of Springboro, Ohio, Mary Frances Flowers and her husband Craig of Weirton and Gloria Christine Guio and her husband John of Ashburn, VA.; brother Robert Rusinovich and his wife Barbara of Weirton and five grandchildren Lauren, Rachel, Matthew, Emily and Ashley.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10AM Thursday at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Reverend Father Walter Jagela will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.

It hurts me deeply to know such a great woman has passed, but I feel joy in knowing that she doesn’t have to worry about pain or sorrow anymore. Our prayers are with the whole family at this time. Sorry we can’t be there.

Aunt Rose was such a great example of faith, love, and family. I have many fond memories that will be cherished until I get to see her again in Heaven. Knowing my Dad, he probably grabbed her the moment she walked through those Pearly Gates, and gave her the tour of the glorious place she will spend eternity. Beloved Connell’s family, Accept my condolences on the death of your wife, mother and grandmother – Rose Connell. The news of her demise came to me after her funeral, however, I consider it wise to send my condolences to you, having known, visited and brought the sacraments to Rose while she was alive. She was really a great woman of faith. There is no doubt her death has left a great vaccum in your lives and no one can fill that vaccum. She is really going to be missed by all who know her. My heart goes out to you, Jerome, the husband, I can imagine how hard,difficult and challenging the death of your wife, Rose, must have been for you. Be consoled that she is now resting in the bossom of the Lord, where she will no longer suffer any pain or sorrow. You cared so much for her while she was with you; may your consolation now be that she is caring for you now from heaven. May the gentle soul of Rose and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace, Amen. God bless.
