Roy Leasure, 83, of Weirton, passed away, Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the Acuity Specialty Hospital in Steubenville, OH. He was born February 11, 1925 in Tyler County, West Virginia, the son of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Forrester Leasure. Two brothers and three sisters also preceded him. Roy retired from the City of Weirton Water Department where he was a foreman. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved playing with his grandchildren. Roy served his country in the US Army, and was a WWII prisoner of war. He was a member of the VFW and was Protestant by faith. Roy is survived by his wife, Edna Bailey Leasure of Weirton; son, Roy Leasure (Cindy ) of Steubenville, OH; daughters Kathryn Kelley (John) of Hopedale, OH, Susan Burrough (Gregory) and Janice Summers both of Weirton, WV; sisters, Madeline Leasure of Weirton, Betty Barnhart of Chester, WV and Helen Hickman of Cairo, WV; grandchildren Shawn Pratt, Amy Pratt, and Stacey Rodriguez, whom he and Edna raised, and Christine Thompson, Deanna Munson, and Robert Summers, and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, WV, where services will be held Wednesday, 11AM in the funeral home. Pastor Harry Knight will officiate. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens where military services will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad.
