Rudolph Stanich

Rudolph “Rudy” Stanich, 87, of Weirton, died Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at the Serra Manor Retirement Center. He was born November 15, 1914 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Nick and Sarah Stanich. Also preceding Rudy was his wife, Ann Bartolovich Stanich on April 8, 2001; a son, Ronald in 1977; six brothers; and two sisters.
After 31 years of service, Rudy retired from the U. S. Postal Service. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army and was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, the V.F.W. #2716, National Association of Letter Carriers, Serbian Men’s Club, and AARP.
Rudy is survived by his son, Gary Stanich and his wife Charlene of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7 – 9 PM and Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where a Pomen service will be held at 7:30 PM Thursday. Additional visitation will be held on Friday from 9 AM until time of funeral services at 10 AM at the Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Steubenville.
Interment will follow at the Serbian Cemetery in Weirton with military services performed by the American Legion Post 10, VFW #2716, and the Tri-State Marine Corps.
