Ruth Burchinal Bailey

Ruth Burchinal Bailey, 88 of Weirton died September 23 at home. She was born on April 14, 1913 in Morgantown, WV the daughter of the late, Ira and Eva Bales Burchinal Snyder. She was also preceded in death by her daughter: Jane Bailey Hargis. Ruth was a 1934 Amertius graduate of West Virginia University with BA in mathematics, was a retired math teacher at Toronto High School with 15 years service, a member of Cove United Presbyterian Church, Amertius Club of WVU Alumni, Weirton and Wheeling Women’s Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, Weirton Chapter #147 Order of the Eastern Star.. Ruth is survived by her husband: Charles A Bailey of Weirton, whom she married April 5, 1938, a son: Charles A. Bailey, Jr. and his wife Heather of Salt Lake City, Utah, 3 grandchildren: Charles Geoffrey Bailey and his wife Kristen, Andrew D. Bailey and his wife Janna, Susan E. Hargis Gillespie and her husband Aaron, and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday 7-9 PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the Cove United Presbyterian Church. Interment will at Chestnut ridge Cemetery, Florence PA.
