Ruth G. Swisher
August 2, 1932 ~ September 13, 2004
Former Weirton resident, Ruth G. Swisher, 72, of Steubenville, died Monday, September 13, 2004 in the Palliative Care Unit of Valley Hospice in Steubenville. Born August 2, 1932 in Weirton, she was the daughter of the late William and Ora Mae Williamson Linn. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Swisher and sisters Juanita McAbee and Sara Parks.
Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the Colliers Church of the Nazarene.
Ruth’s survivors include her sons Charles W., Glenn D. and Douglas E. Swisher all of Weirton; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Additional visitation will be held from 10AM until the 11AM funeral services on Thursday at the Colliers Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Willis Watkins and Reverend Russel Buchanan presiding. Interment will be at Three Springs Cemetery in Weirton.

I am saddend by the passing of Ruth Swisher, but I know she lived a life that was holy and pleasing to God. I believe today she is celebrating on the streets of Gold with all the saints. Millie and I wish the best for those who are morning this loss, and would challenge them to seek God’s comfort for such a time as this.

I am so very sorry, I just now found out about Ruth. She was such a great lady and I loved her very much. Erica is my best friend and I have many memories of Ruth and the Family.
