Ruth H. Rutherford

Ruth H. Rutherford, 89, of Weirton died October 22, at the Weirton Geriatric Center.
She was born on March 24, 1912 in Austin, PA, the daughter of the late Frank A. and Blanche Hess Wiley. Ruth was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Rutherford, on July 26, 1984, a brother, Gilbert Wiley and a sister, Hester Bundy.
She is survived by her son, Robert W. Rutherford of Pittsburgh, her daughter, Mrs. William (Barbara) Moore of Weirton, her sister, Elizabeth Strum of Venice, Fl, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Cove United Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service will be held 11 AM Friday, November 23, 2001 at Weirton Heights Memorial Baptist Church.
Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton was in charge of arrangements.
Interment will be in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Steubenville, OH.

Ruth and I have been friends since high school. We were in the band together, played on the basketball team, and continued to keep in touch and play cards or have meals together over the years. I fondly remember their 50th wedding anniversary in Pittsburgh.
