Sandra Reardon, 73, of Weirton, WV passed away Thursday May 13, 2010, at her home, with her loving family at her side. Born January 19, 1937, in Jacksonburg, WV, Sandy was a daughter of the late Ersilio and Mabel Rogers Marsella. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Layton Reardon on January 30, 1999. On April 15, 2010, Sandy retired from the Mary H. Weir Library after 20 years of service, where she was the Children's Librarian conducting many years of Story Hour and the summer reading program. Prior to her employment with the Library, Sandy was an elementary school teacher with Saint Joseph the Worker Grade School in Weirton. When Sandy was not devoting her time to the area's children, she enjoyed reading books, playing cards, and vacationing with her family, especially in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Sandy was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton She is survived by her two sons, Michael P. Reardon and his wife Karen of Weirton, John L. Reardon and his wife Denise of Follansbee, WV; Her daughters, Michelle Wharton and her husband, Bob, and Arlene E. Reardon all of Weirton, WV; a brother, Ersilio "Bill" Marsella of Houston, PA; her three sisters, Barbara Tunno of Burgettstown, PA, Deborah Donley of Orlando, FL, and Demeta DeSantis of Follansbee, WV; her seven grandchildren, Amy Dragisich, Robert Wharton, Jr., Paul Anthony Reardon, Rachael Nicole Reardon, Marissa Rae Reardon, Shannon Noel Reardon, and Kristen Alexis Reardon. Visitation will be 12-3 and 6-9 PM Sunday at the Greco Hertnick Funeral Home 3219 Main Street Weirton, WV Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Monday at the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Weirton.   21. My deepest sympathy to the entire family. I went to story hours since I was 3 years old and for the last 5 years, I volunteered with Mrs. Reardon for the story hour programs. I grew close to her over the years. My childhood library memories always include her and the library’s programs, and some of the most fullfilling things I’ve ever done were while volunteering with the programs.
