Sarah Jane (Manion) Baker, 94, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away on March 23, 2011 at Weirton Medical Center. She was born in Wheeling, WV January 16, 1917, the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Catherine Garvey Manion. Sarah was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Robert E. Baker, and brothers Emmett, Colonel Thomas F., Robert , sisters Margaret Manion, Regina (Walton), Angela (Schneid), and Dorothy (Mason). Sarah was a 1934 graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Wheeling WV. Sarah worked for Co Operative Transit Company. She attended Mary Elizabeth Fassig School of Dance. Later opened her own dance school in Warwood. She was a member of Tau Gamma Sigma Sorority and a member of Crippled Children. Sarah is survived by son Robert T. (Carolyn) Baker of Weirton, daughters Karen Bruno(Dutch Smith) of Toronto Ohio, Linda (Louis) Pappas of Weirton WV, Janie (George)Dragovich of Las Vegas, NV and Peggy (Terry) Huyghe with whom she resided. Sarah's grandchildren are Susan (Baker) and Brian Schutz of Monica, PA, John and Teresa Baker of Weirton, Nancy (Baker) and Michael Conrad of Weirton, Dr. Christine (Bruno) and Rock Bartlett of Morgantown, WV, Tina (Bruon) and Mark Seitz of Phoenix, AZ, Beth Ann (Bruno) and Damion Durante of New Cumberland, WV, Roxane (Bruno) and Richard Lombardi of Burgettstown, PA, James and Marina Pappas of Fairhope, AL, Dr. Eleni Pappas of Simpsonville, SC, Jamie and Tania Dragovich and Brian Dragovich of LV, Nev, Ashlee Huyghe of Weirton and Christopher Wilkinson of Jacksonville, FL, Amber Huyghe of Angelton, TX, and Jamie Huyghe of Steubenville, OH. She also has 22 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She is lovingly remembered by family and friends. Visitation Friday 2-4 and 6-8pm at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10am Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
