Sarah Sikey Evkovich

Sarah Sikey Evkovich, 84, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, February 03, 2005 at the Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit in Steubenville, OH. Born June 13, 1920 in Mahoning, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eli and Martha Visnic Evkovich. Sarah was also preceded in death by her sister Bess Anderson and great-nephew Brian David Anderson. In 1984, Sarah retired from Weirton Steel where she was the secretary in the Production Planning Department. She was a member of the Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church and the Pilot Club. Sarah’s survivors include her brother Milan Evkovich of Weirton; nieces and nephews Marta and Shag Wright, Eli and Mary Evkovich all of Weirton, David and Shelley Anderson, Jr. of Damascus, MD and Joan and Emmitt Lanier of Annapolis, MD; great-nieces and nephews Milo and Sarah Wright, Ian Evkovich and Eric Anderson; and brother-in-law David Anderson, Sr. of Chevy Chase, MD. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted at 1:00PM on Saturday with Rev. Father Rade Merick presiding. Interment will be at the Serbian Cemetery in Weirton.
