Shirley Ann Lucas

Shirley Ann Lucas, 84, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 in the Weirton Medical Center, with her children by her side. She was born May 29, 1932 in Brownsville, PA, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Teamer) Dudzak. She was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Lucas in 2006 and sister Beverly Polansky in 2001.
A very friendly person with a kind heart and a smile for everyone, Shirley was a homemaker who attended both St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church and St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. She loved to bake and cook for her family, solve word search puzzles and was a real animal lover, having rescued many stray cats. She loved planting flowers at her home and, whenever possible, Shirley went to listen to her son play guitar and sing.
She is survived by her son Charles B. "Chuck" Lucas and daughter Terri Ann Joy and her fianc Russell Hawkins and his son Thomas all of Weirton.
Visitation will be held Sunday 1-3 and 5-7PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10am Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Anthony G. Thurston officiating. Interment will follow in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery, Florence, PA.
