Stella Kamarados Flatsousis, 72, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2005 at the Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit. Born December 25, 1932 in Chios, Greece, she was the daughter of the late John “Zanni” Kamarados and Irene Zofos Kamarados. Stella was also preceded in death by brothers Stanley J. Kamarados and Michael J. Kamarados. Stella worked at GC Murphy for 21 years and later was self-employed at Domanico’s Beverage Shop in Steubenville. She was a member, and past Vice-President, of the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, President of the Aghia Markella Society, member and President of Philoptochos Society and a member of the All Saints Senior Citizens. Stella is survived by her husband, Costas “Gus” Flatsousis of Weirton, whom she married in 1959; brother Alex (Marie) Kamarados of Steubenville; Sisters-in-law Lillian Kamarados of Weirton and Mary Lee Handchumacher of Greensburg, OH; nieces Irene (Pat) Kamarados Harrington of San Antonio, TX , Eurydice “Rikki” Kamarados of Steubenville, OH and Georgenne (William) Kamarados Davidson of Weirton; nephews John A. (Connie) Kamarados of Weirton, Michael J. Kamarados of Canton OH, Nikolas A. (Stephanie) Kamarados of Follansbee, WV and John S. Kamarados (fiancé Cheryl Olszewski) of Pittsburgh, PA; several great-nieces and great-nephews and many godchildren. Visitation will be Saturday 6-8PM and Sunday 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where a Trisagion will be conducted at 7PM Sunday. Stella will lie in state Monday from 10AM until the 11AM funeral services at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. The Very Reverend Father Frank Milanese and Very Reverend Father Dean Dimon will preside. Interment will be in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery in Florence, PA. I will always remember the kindness shown me by Stella when I converted to the Orthodox faith and during the illness and passing of my mum.
