Stella V. Colangelo

Stella V. Colangelo, 100, of Weirton, WV, died Monday, July 21, 2003, at the Weirton Geriatric Center. She was born on October 23, 1902, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Jenny (Sacco) Cicco. Stella was also preceded in death by her daughter, Anna Colangelo; her husband, Nicholas F. Colangelo; and her sisters, Philomena Mancuso, and Angeline Starvaggi. Stella was a member of the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church in Weirton, where she helped in the organization of the parish. She was a member of the Christian Mothers. Surviving include her two sons, Anthony and Mary Jane Colangelo of Pittsburgh, PA, and John and Jean Colangelo of Weirton; grandchildren, Patricia Colangelo, Anthony Colangelo, Jr., John and Joyce Colangelo, and Philip and Kim Colangelo; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 PM Wednesday at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. A vigil service will be held 3:30 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Thursday at the Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Stephen Dube will preside. Entombment will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery.
