Sue “Susie” La Posta, 85, of Weirton, passed away Monday, September 19, 2005 at her home. Born January 4, 1920 in Avella, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Patrick Baker. Susie was also preceded in death by her husband, Tony on January 13, 2002, brothers Thomas and Michael Baker and sisters Anna Lengyel, Mary Kushner and Helen Danaher. Susie was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Weirton Women’s Club and was a founding member of the Weirton Retarded Children Council. Susie’s survivors include her son Anthony T. LaPosta and his wife Patricia; daughters Geraldine Banketas and her husband Tom all of Weirton and Sandra Riopelle and her husband Richard of Morgantown, WV; sister Margaret Lombardo of Virginia and grandchildren Rico and Michael LaPosta of Seattle, WA. Friends will be received Wednesday 4-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted at 11AM on Thursday with Rev. Darrell Carney presiding. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery in Colliers, WV.
