Susan Cihota

Susan Cihota, 92, of Weirton, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born August 27, 1915 in Windber, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Kashute and Susan Mauger Kashute Walko. Susan was also preceded in death by her husband Michael Cihota on March 7, 1999, step-father Pete Walko; brothers, George, Paul, Mike, Joseph, Edward and Andrew Kashute; sisters, Anna Rufus and Mary Tulanko. Susan was a homemaker, a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Altar Rosary Society, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was an avid bingo player. She is survived by her son Michael Cihota and his wife Donna of Huntington, WV; daughters Kathy and Susanne Cihota of Weirton; sister Margaret Carsello of Chicago, IL; grandchildren Rebecca Cihota and Jennifer and Kyle Adkins of Huntington, WV and great-grandson Jeffery Adkins. Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9PM, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. A rosary will be recited by the Altar Rosary Society at 3:30 PM Wednesday in the funeral home. Parastas services will be held Wednesday at 8:15 PM in the funeral home. Final blessing will be held 9:30AM Thursday in the funeral home followed by the 10:00AM Funeral Liturgy at St Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Ed Lucas officiating.
