Susan “Sue” Barber 54, of Weirton, passed away, Friday, August 10, 2007 at her residence. She was born November 14, 1952 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Fred and Virginia Hughes Quigley.
Sue was formerly employed by the Weirton Steel Company as a personal secretary to Dr. J. L. Thompson. She also volunteered and worked for the Weirton Medical Center in the Admitting Department. Sue was Presbyterian by faith.
Sue is survived by her husband Michael Barber of Weirton; son, Matthew Barber, and daughter Katherine Barber both of Weirton; Sisters, Sarah Metzbower and her husband John of Shepherdstown, WV, and Jinny Sellers and her husband Mike of Augusta, GA.
Visitation will be Monday, August 13, 2007 from 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St, Weirton, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 14, 2007.
Interment will be at St Paul Cemetery, Weirton, WV.

Katie, I am saddened to hear about your loss. I had spoken to your mother several times the past few months. Never did she complain, always had a smile on her face,and good words for everyone. Dear Michael and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Susan was a wonderful mother and wife and she will be greatly missed by everyone she touched. I am living mostly out of town and I am very sorry I will not be able to attend the services but my heart and prayers are with you and your family. Dear Mike, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Sue has been one of my friends since high school. She was the sweetest kindest person I’ve ever known. Always laughing, always making other laughs, she was a joy to be around. Even in her darkest times she never complained about how she was feeling, she was always interested in how I was doing. She wanted to know about my life, she wanted to talk about happy things and happy times. I come up your way every summer and I always made sure I saw her. The girls always get together with her and have girls night out, it is so fun, she will be sadly missed next time around. Mike,Jinny and Sarah, You have my deepest sympathy with your loss of Sue. I have many fond memories of her while we were growing up in the Pleasant Valley area. I will truly miss her.
I went To Weir High with Sue. She was always so friendly and a very happy and cheerful person. I am so sorry for your loss. May God be with you through this difficult time. I will pray for your family.

To Sue’s family, I was shocked and saddened when I found out that Sue had died. She was a wonderful person. I work at the hospital and on several occasions we had lunch together. She will be missed.

Sarah and Jinny, I did not see the paper in time to get there last night, but called Randy right away. I am so sorry about Susie. I know that my parents thought so much of her, especially with my Mom coming in and out of the hospital all the time. She was always there with a smile to make her and all of us feel better. To Sue’s Family, Sue and I were friends from Cove Church. She was financial secretary at that time and I was a volunteer secretary. We both had our health problems, but she never complained and would always ask how I was doing. I will miss her very much. Please accept my deepest sympathy.
I am sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I worked many years with Sue at the hospital and she always made me smile with her loving and caring spirit. She will be greatly missed.
To all who love and will miss Susie, I was away on vacation when I heard the sad news about Sue. All our friends contacted me and we all shared memories of her over the phone. I will miss her smile (I always teased her about it being crooked, but I loved it.) My prayers will be with her family and friends during this difficult time.
