Theodore Anthony Kolanko, 93, a life-long resident of Weirton, WV, died Thursday, September 27, 2018 in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Ted was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, received his formal education at West Virginia University and Pittsburgh Institute of Technology. He retired from the former Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel as an industrial engineer. Ted was an avid golfer and long-time bridge player. Preceding him in death was his wife Jeanne C. Kolanko, parents John and Mary (Kukula) Kolanko, brothers Edward, Tony, Frank and Joe Kolanko, sisters Mary Lou Kolanko and Stella Kolanko Sullivan. Surviving are his sons, Robert Kolanko and his wife Sono, of Weirton, WV, John Kolanko of Auburndale, FL, Thad Kolanko and his wife Lucinda of Weirton; grandchildren, Mari and Megu, John Curtis, Melissa, Amy, Michael,; great-grandchildren Electra, Hanna, Ethan, Autumn and Hayleigh; and his sister Theresa Kolanko Marone of Tampa, FL. Visitation will be Saturday October 6, 2018 from 11:00 AM until the 12 noon Memorial Service at Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 140 Walnut Street, Weirton. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated at 12 Noon on Saturday October 6, 2018, at the Saint Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Weirton Rev. Fr. Babu Joseph Elamturuthil will preside at the 12 Noon Memorial Service A committal Service will follow at Saint Paul's Cemetery, Weirton, with military honors conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard and the United States Navy. Memorial contributions may be made to Madonna High School, 150 Michael Way, Weirton, WV 26062. Arrangements have been made by Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
