Therese M. Straney

Therese M. Straney, 75, of South Hadley, Mass., died October 4, 2001, at home. She was born in Weirton, on November 12, 1925, the fourth daughter of the late Charles and Marguerite McNamara Straney. She has resided in South Hadley since 1970. Therese was educated in Weirton, WV schools. She graduated from Steubenville High School. She graduated with Honors form Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. She earned an Advanced Degree from Columbia University in New York, NY. She taught music in the Pioneer Valley. She was a member of the Retired Educators Assoc. of Massachusetts. She was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Church in South Hadley, Mass. Two sisters, Abigail Denning of New York, NY and Rosarii St. John of Pittsburgh, PA., four brothers, James of Rome, NY, Charles of East Lansing, Mich., Lawrence of Richmond, OH. and Paul of New York, NY survive Therese. She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday evening from 7 – 9 PM, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.
