Thomas Carl Turkaly

Thomas Carl Turkaly, 79, of Weirton, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his residence.
Born August 11, 1936, in Steubenville, he was a son of the late Michael and Helen (Sarnecki) Turkaly.
Tom was a 1954 graduate of Weir High, he also completed vocational training as a machinist. Proudly wearing badge number 26176, he worked for Weirton Steel as a pipefitter in the blast furnace from January 1955 until January 1992. While at Weirton Steel he earned the Finger in the Dike Award from Jack Redline for his sound judgement and quick action preventing a costly shut down. Tom served in the United States Army from 1959-1965.
When he wasn't spending time with his family, Tom enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and morel mushroom hunting.
He is survived by his son Dan Turkaly of New Cumberland, WV; daughter Deborah McGee; brothers Edward Turkaly of Vienna, VA; David Turkaly of Weirton, WV; Robert Turkaly of Follansbee, WV; Michael Turkaly of Ripley, WV; and grandchildren Derek, Marissa and Matthew Turkaly.
Per Mr. Turkaly's request, there will be no visitation or service.
