Thomas E. Lamp, 63, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born April 13, 1947 in Weirton, he was a son of Lora Dennis Lamp of Weirton and the late Donzel A. Lamp. He was also preceded in death by his sister Sheila Karpinski. Mr. Lamp was a member of the United Auto Workers, a life-time member and officer of the VFW Post 2716 in Weirton and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a former employee of the Ball Corporation in Weirton. Thomas is survived by his wife Linda Zeigler Lamp of Wintersville; son Jeffery Lamp and his wife Amy of Wellsburg, WV; daughters Clarisa Sherman and Lisa Smith and her husband Chuck all of Weirton; brother Eddie Lamp and his wife Linda of Cincinnati, OH; sister Glenda Jo Collett and her husband Rick of Weirton; 8 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton where funeral services will be conducted at 11AM Saturday. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Follansbee, WV where Military Services will be conducted by the American Legion Firing Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 2716, 435 Main Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
