Vance F. Jeskiewicz, 88, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born on May 15, 1915 in New Cumberland, WV, a son of the late Joseph and Gladys Nakladowicz Jeskiewicz. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Walter Jeskiewicz, and one sister, Clara Tarr. Vance retired with 42 years of service from National Steel where he worked in the Sheet Mill as a feeder on the galvanized line. He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, P.N.A., and the Weirton Steel 25 Year Club. Vance served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. during WWII. He is survived by two sisters, Bernice Jeskiewicz and Sophie Boyd, both of Weirton; two nephews, Kenneth (Sheila) Orlando of Weirton and Walter Joseph (Marge) Jeskiewicz of Colliers, WV; one niece, Sandra Starr of Weirton; four great nephews, Robert Starr of Weirton, James (Ruth) Starr of Follansbee, WV, Kenneth Alan Orlando of Colorado Springs, CO, and Joseph Alan Jeskiewicz of North Carolina; one great niece, Melanie (Dan) Taylor of Weirton; and several great great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Friday at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where a wake service will be held 8:30 PM Friday. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Weirton. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton.
