Velma M. Jeffries

Velma M. Jeffries, 81, of Weirton, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born January 6, 1924 in Bridgeport, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert Graham Smith and Alberta Porter Smith Mathie. Velma was also preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn Mae; her husband Paul R. Jeffries on August 13, 1988 and grandson Bryan Darrah in 1984. Velma was a homemaker and a member of the Weirton Heights Free Methodist Church. She was also a member of Three Score Seniors, Mingo Senior Center and AARP. Velma’s survivors include her daughter Frankie M. Darrah and her husband Robert of Weirton; sister Mildred D’Alesio of Steubenville, OH ; grandchildren Robert Darrah of Eureka, CA, and Carol Zaladziejewski and Stephanie Cunningham both of Weirton and 9 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday 1-3 and 6-8PM at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be conducted 11AM Monday. Interment will be in the Ft.
