Verna K. Ford, 43, of Anderson, IN, formerly of Weirton, WV, passed away unexpectedly in Community Hospital in Anderson, IN. Born June 22, 1974 in Weirton, she was the daughter of Vernon G. Ford, Sr. and the late Loretta Shreve Ford. Verna worked at Carter Logistics as a dispatcher. Prior to moving to Indiana, she was a teacher at Oak Glen High School and also tutored students privately. She was a catholic by faith. Verna enjoyed coaching soccer and was a huge animal advocate who would help any animal she could. She was also an avid Cleveland Browns fans. She is survived by her fiancé James “Chris” Dunbar of Anderson, IN; Chris’ children James and Jocelynn Dunbar; brother Vernon G. Ford, Jr. of AZ; very dear friend Jennifer Shriver, whom she thought of as a sister; nephews Jacob and Kaleb Shriver, niece Abigail Ford and great niece Avah Mae Shriver. Visitation will be held Saturday 2-4 and 6:00 until the 8:00 PM funeral service at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV. Pastor Aaron Miller will officiate.
