victoria loufakis
Victoria Loufakis, 75, of Bodega Bay, CA, formerly of Weirton, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at her home. She was born October 28, 1942 in Weirton, a daughter the late Harilaos “Harry” and Evyena “Virginia” Gailas Loufakis, immigrants from Chios, Greece. Victoria graduated from WVU and studied at the University of Paris, at the Sorbonne. She was a Francophile her entire life. Victoria was an organizational design consultant and expert. She was a committed and vocal environmental activist. One of her final statements immediately prior to passing away was “I hate to leave all this beauty” while looking out the window of her home at a giant Blue Heron flying over Bodega Bay Harbor and the Pacific Ocean. She is survived by her sisters Kaliope Dematatis of Washington, DC and Mary Ann (George) Psaros of Weirton; nephews Harry Dematatis of DC, Michael Psaros of NY and Harry Psaros of PA and great nephews and nieces Alexandra, Leo, Marina, Gus, Max, Alexander, Joanna and Theodore. She loved her family, especially her nephews and great nephews and nieces. Friends will be received Tuesday from 10 until the 11AM funeral service at the All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. The Reverend Father Frank Milanese will officiate. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton. Arrangements by Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, WV.
