Virginia M. Ciotti, 90, of Weirton, WV, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017, in Weirton Geriatric Center with her family by her side.
Born October 20, 1926, in Weirton, WV, she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Carmela Vincenti Darmelio. She was also preceded in death by her husband Henry J. Ciotti in 1991 and sister Irene Rafacz.
Virginia’s greatest joy in life was caring for her family and raising her three daughters. She was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Church, an avid reader and loved cooking Italian food for her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters Joyce Ciotti of Pittsburgh, PA, Janice and Pat McKimmie of NV, Jennifer and Eric Burdette and their children Monica and Adam of Weirton; brother Phillip Darmelio (Joanne) of Follansbee; sister in law Rosetta (Cookie) Vucich and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home. Reverend Father Anthony G. Thurston will officiate.
Entombment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
So very sorry to hear this terrible news. I’m so sorry we won’t be able to make it for the services we live in Florida now. Virginia was a wonderful person and the greatest neighbor anyone could ever ask for. We will be Praying for your family and May Virginia Rest In Peace. May she enjoy her new home in Heaven with Father God. Amen!!
I can’t tell you how sorry I am that you Mom passed. I just bought her a bag of chocolate and was going over to see her and Delores Pete across from her this week. I sat with her at the fireworks display at the geriatric ctr. and we had the best talk. We were laughing about so many things that have happened while she lived there. She loved you all very much and talked fondly f each and every one of you. I have many memories of your dear mom and I will miss visiting with her. You were very blessed to of had her for so long as I lost my mom at 61. Prayers to you all.

So very Sorry to hear of Virginia’s passing. What a Beautiful, Happy Person she was-All the time. We had many a Conversation that mostly always centered around our Families. How She missed your Dear Father, but now, her waiting is over. Please give Phil My Condolences. God Bless All of You. She will be missed!!

A “heartfelt sadness and sorrow” reading that your mom has left your world, knowing the many moments, hours, and time you all spent with her only comes from “returning the LOVE” that she had for each one of you. Though it has been awhile since being at the Gereatic center the days spent with my dad and making my coffee runs for many it was always a blessing to stop and see Virginia. She never wanted coffee, but you wanted to stop to hear her opinions and wisdom about life in good fun. Each day was a blessing and her heart beamed with pride when speaking about “her family.” There aren’t words right now that that heal hurts but I do know in time “blessings” from love shown will soften and bring peace to your hearts.
