virginia roseberry
Virginia P. Roseberry of Weirton passed away peacefully at Carriage Inn in Steubenville on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. She was 93 years old. She was born in Weirton on May 6, 1929, a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Burskey Roseberry. Virginia nourished her faith at Saint Joseph the Worker Church where she was a greeter, a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of a woman’s prayer group that prayed as the crocheted. She was a 1947 graduate of Weir High School and was an active member of her class reunion committee. Virginia retired from the WSX and National Steel Corporations as a secretary. She enjoyed her leisure time golfing, bowling, being a member of 4-Seasons, traveling around the world, and taking day trips, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her brother Steve Roseberry, sisters Anna Rumora, Vivian McCall, Marie Fresco, and Helen Cavalero. Left to cherish her memory with love and admiration are her brother Jacob “Jack” (Agnes) Roseberry of New Cumberland and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 12-4 PM on Friday, May 27, 2022, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, until the 4 PM Liturgy of the Word Service. Monsignor Joseph Peterson will officiate. Private interment will be in the St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton. Share tributes with Virginia’s family at www.grecohertnick.com

  6. To the extended family of Virginia: While growing up in Weirton, my siblings and I, became aware of the fact that Virginia and my father had “dated” during the 1940’s. Whenever we bumped into or saw Virginia at events or Church and in the neighborhood while she lived on Sherwood Avenue and we on South Circle Drive the encounter would include the phrase: “This is Virginia Roseberry, Daddy’s former girlfriend.” Virginia was always adorned with her captivating smile, stately stature, awesome sense of fashion, and radiant glow. I could see why my father had once been smitten. Now this wonderful person is an angel smiling upon us from Heaven! As you grieve your loss, please know of the Tuchalski family’s condolences, supportive prayer, and deepest sympathy. Sincerely, Stan Tuchalski – Kissimmee, FL
