Warren L. Pleasants, 70, of Weirton died Wednesday December 5, 2007, at the Weirton Medical Center. He was born on April 23, 1937, in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Harry and Nellie Haught Pleasants. Warren was also preceded in death by his brother, Elwood Lee Pleasants; his foster brother, Walter Johnson; his sister, Mona Jean Cunningham and his granddaughter, Nevaeh Starr Brown. Warren retired after 45 years of service from Weirton Steel where he was an inspector and a slitter in the Sheet Mill. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Warren was a member of the Tri-State Marine Corp Club, BPOE 1801 and the VFW Post 2716. He is survived by his companion Ruth Keller of Weirton; his son, Warren Douglas Pleasants of Oregon; his daughters Holly Jo Bell and Starry Dawn Pleasants both of Weirton; his brothers Harry Pleasants of Sneads Ferry, NC and Dennis A. Pleasants of Weirton, WV; his sisters Winona Greenlief of Weirton, WV and Sharon Haag of Raleigh NC; four grandchildren, William Walker III, Thomas Richard Bell III, Austin Douglas and Christopher Ryan Hoover. Visitation will be 1-3 and 6-8 PM Sunday at the Greco- Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday. Reverend Marvin Taylor will preside. Interment will follow at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton, with military services conducted by the American Legion and Weirton Honor Guard.
